Bucket List Trip 2016~Day 17~ Kennewick, WA- Multnomah Falls, to Centralia, OR

Left Kennewick, Washington around 11 Pacific time.

I always thought of Oregon & Washington as being full of green trees.
Kennewick is in a very dry area.
Still looks like Montana here.

We crossed the bridge over the Columbia River back into Oregon.
Umatilla Army Depot, OR as seen from Interstate 84W.
 Tree farm?

We had seen several school buses in the parking lot.
When we got inside there was a crowd at the beginning of the museum.
So we left.

Not a very active river for commerce or leisure.
This was the only tug boat we saw on the whole 3 hour trip.
Saw at least 3 dams for power production.
 Started seeing a few trees.
Crossed the bridge and traveled the highway on the Washington side.

We found ourselves moving in slow traffic on the interstate in Portland, OR due to an accident.
We got off the interstate only to find ourselves going in the wrong direction.
In the process of turning around,
we found ourselves in the parking lot of Elmer's Restaurant.
So we decided to eat while hopefully the traffic died down some.
Mr. G tried the German pancake. He loved it.

This guy pulled up beside us and then started moving his nice big black truck over to us within about 3 inches of our rearview mirror.  We ended up having to let him move up in front of us.

Don't know?
Would you believe this is a mattress store?
Our exit for the night.
